About the Company

The Smock History

Smock Plumbing has a long history of serving the needs of Crawford County families and businesses. H. Edward Smock founded Smock Plumbing back in 1947. Prior to starting his own business, Edward got his start as a plumber working for the L. L. Lord Company. After getting his Masters License, Edward opened his own plumbing business on Allegheny Street in Meadville, PA.

Edward was a community-minded businessman and as his plumbing business grew, he helped to inaugurate a plumbing apprenticeship program at the Meadville Vocational Training School.

Edward’s son Charles Smock took over the business in the mid 1970s, still headquartered at the Allegheny Street location.

Smock Plumbing continued to grow, and in July of 1998, Edward’s grandson, Rich Kebert, took over the business. Rich operates the business today, still from the original location on Allegheny Street where his grandfather started it all back in 1947.
